About TOPGUN Options
Fighter Pilot. Wall Street. Founder.
From the cockpit of an F/A-18 Hornet to a multibillion-dollar options firm to the Oval Office — this is the mission behind TOPGUN Options.
Trading is a form of combat. There's a winner and there's a loser — and every day, professional traders and Wall Street firms plan on making sure they win and you lose. Whiz built TOPGUN Options to even the odds, and he proves which side he can put you on: his results are posted, his trades are shared, and every mission gets debriefed.
The Fighter Pilot
Trained Where Failure Isn't an Option
Matthew "Whiz" Buckley is a decorated F/A-18 Hornet fighter pilot and graduate of the Navy Fighter Weapons School — TOPGUN. He flew combat sorties during Operations Southern Watch, and mobilized for Noble Eagle, and Enduring Freedom.
In naval aviation, every flight runs on the same cycle: plan the mission, brief it, execute it, debrief it — honestly, ruthlessly, every time. Discipline. Risk management. Superior execution. That operating system never left him. It became the foundation for everything that came next.
September 11th, 2001
Two Cockpits in One Morning
The morning of 9/11 was scheduled to be Whiz's first flight as a pilot for American Airlines. Instead, he raced to Naval Air Station Fort Worth — where he flew fighters in the reserve with the Hunters of Strike Fighter Squadron 201 — and manned a combat air patrol alongside USAF F-16s. He went from being scheduled to fly an airliner that morning to flying armed patrol with orders to shoot one down if it came to that.
A week later, American furloughed him. The hobby became the mission: trading. He attacked the markets the way he'd been trained to attack everything — a clear strategy, tactics that support it, contingency plans for when it goes wrong, disciplined risk management, and a ruthless debrief after every trade to sharpen execution.
In the heart of Chicago's derivatives world.
The Wall Street Years
From Retail Trader to Wall Street
The furloughed fighter pilot trading his own account got good enough that Wall Street came calling — a path that captivates every retail trader who's ever wondered how far discipline can take them. Whiz became Managing Director of Strategy at a multibillion-dollar volatility arbitrage options firm headquartered in the Chicago Board of Trade building.
He went on to become CEO of Options News Network, a financial media company that went head-to-head with CNBC. What he learned at the sharpest end of finance: professional traders treat trading as combat — and retail traders are the ones getting shot down.
The Mission
TOPGUN Options
TOPGUN Options puts institutional-grade trading intelligence in the hands of retail traders — the same quality of research Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley reserve for their high-net-worth clients. Whiz's personal brokerage returned +83.5% in Q2 2026 while the S&P did 16.83% — and the statement is posted on the homepage.

President, No Fallen Heroes Foundation
The Mission That Saved His Life
In the spring of 2021, Whiz traveled to Mexico for psychedelic-assisted treatment. The experience saved his life — and changed it. He came home and founded the No Fallen Heroes Foundation with one objective: end the epidemic of veteran and first responder suicide by giving warriors access to the same healing that saved him.

The Oval Office — a mission carried to the highest office in the land.
Full Circle
From Rock Bottom to the Oval Office
Nearly five years to the day after the experience that gave him his life back, Whiz stood in the Oval Office as President Trump signed an executive order advancing the mission he'd been fighting for — bringing breakthrough healing to the veterans and first responders who need it most.
What started as one man's second chance became national policy. The debrief isn't over.

The Mission Evolved
In the spring of 2025, the mission grew again. Whiz founded the Sacred Warrior Fellowship — a spiritual community built around the protected sacramental use of entheogenic medicine, giving warriors a lasting home for the healing that began with No Fallen Heroes.
